Hold DAs Accountable for "Flash Mob" Robberies – Unfortunately, criminals are emboldened to commit crimes when they perceive there will be no, or at worst only minimal, consequences for their actions. In many cities around the country, George Soros-funded rogue prosecutors have refused to do their jobs by refusing to prosecute entire categories of crimes—including many theft, shoplifting, and drug-related offenses. The result is increasing lawlessness in those cities. Unfortunately, it’s the citizens of those cities, especially the most vulnerable, that bear the consequences of those bad policies. One of the best ways to combat this type of crime is to empower police officers to do their jobs and to hold criminals accountable for their actions. Heritage Expert: Zack Smith

Supreme Court Will Determine If Customers Can Sue Businesses for ‘Emotional Distress.’ This Has Serious Implications for Religious Freedom. – In Cummings v. Premier Rehab Keller, the Supreme Court will decide whether Congress meant to create a private right of action to sue for compensatory damages for emotional distress under existing federal civil rights laws. While this case has flown largely under the radar, it will have colossal implications for the ongoing legal battle to protect religious freedom, especially as it intersects with modern interpretations of civil rights law and governmental anti-discrimination provisions. With Inflation Raging, Congress Must End Spending Spree – Economy-wide prices have increased much faster than wage or economic growth, eating into household budgets. In an environment where American families must be careful with their finances, it would make sense for legislators in Washington to do the same for the nation’s finances. Yet we have seen just the opposite. Congress has passed four major spending bills since the start of the pandemic and added a staggering $5.5 trillion to the national debt in the process. That’s about $43,000 in new debt for every household in the country. Much of that spending has been wasteful or opportunistic, such as bailouts for politically connected industries and unnecessary handouts to state governments. Heritage Expert: David Ditch
EXCLUSIVE: Pro-Life Group Begs Lawmakers to Block Biden Administration From Stealthily Easing Access to ‘Death by Mail’ Abortion Drugs – Even if the upcoming Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case results in some states enacting earlier gestational limits on abortion, abortion pills will be the next frontier of abortion policy battles. Chemical abortions subject women to serious health and safety risks, and abandoning current FDA safety measure will endanger women even further. Policymakers, particularly at the state level, must prepare for the Biden administration to soon prioritize expanding chemical abortion over the health and safety of women and unborn children. Horrific Waukesha Deaths Preventable Result of Ill-Considered Bail Policies – Whether the act was intentional or merely reckless and without regard to others, one thing is already clear—what happened in Waukesha was entirely preventable. Darrell Brooks should have been in jail several times over. The devastation he wrought happened only because grossly reckless bail policies touted by local officials enabled the release of an unrepentantly violent man whose actions routinely placed members of the community in serious danger. Iranian hackers indictment shows vulnerability of online voter registration – Americans did not have any problems registering to vote using traditional registration methods. What could be easier than simply filling out the one-page voter registration form that all states use and mailing it in or hand-delivering it? Or registering when you get your driver’s license? That system avoids the security problems inherent in providing an Internet gateway – that can be compromised – into a state’s election systems. It also highlights the other problem inherent in the Internet that we all experience every day as we are bombarded with false, fraudulent, and fake emails and social media postings. If that is the only place where you are getting your information on politics, you are making a big mistake. Heritage Expert: Hans von Spakovsky
