Today is Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world by philanthropically supporting communities and causes. The Boundary Waters is an iconic national – and international – public lands treasure. It has an international reputation as a world-class Wilderness. Just last week, the Mountain Journal released an outstanding story & interview with our National Campaign Chair Becky Rom, about our historic effort to protect the Boundary Waters from copper mining. Not to mention, this month Northern Minnesota was picked for National Geographic's 25 most exciting destinations for 2022!
But did you know, the Boundary Waters is one of only fourteen “International Dark Sky Sanctuaries” - making it one of the most naturally dark places on earth, void of artificial lights?
Here are a few things that make the Boundary Waters special across the globe:
2022 is our chance to protect the Boundary Waters from sulfide-ore copper mining forever, but we have to act soon. By giving any amount you can today in honor of Giving Tuesday, you are showing that you are part of a global community of people that care deeply about protecting the Boundary Waters for generations to come. P.S. Make a one-time donation today for Giving Tuesday, or shop our NEW Save the Boundary Waters merch. Proceeds go towards protecting this incredible landscape. Order by December 5th for holiday delivery!
