Friend – as I close in on my most important fundraising deadline to date, I've never forgotten that the movement we're building is far bigger than me. 

I'm in this race to expand my unlikely story of opportunity to more Americans. You see, there was nothing easy about growing up as a poor, Black girl in the South, the daughter of a maid and a janitor. I went to segregated schools, washed dishes and worked at McDonald's to pay my way through college.

I'm in this race to create meaningful change for hardworking families like mine – people who deserve leaders that understand the challenges they are facing. 

And I'm in this race to expand our Democratic Senate majority and protect our democracy – because CNN says Florida is one of the MOST likely Senate seats to flip blue in 2022, and winning here will virtually guarantee Democratic Senate control.

But Florida's last Senate race was decided by just 0.12% of voters, and I'm neck and neck with Rubio in recent polls. Right now, I need ALL hands on deck to reach my $200,000 November fundraising goal so I can compete against the GOP dark money pouring into Florida.
