John,
After the recent election in Virginia, it’s clear that Democrats have a lot of work to do to make inroads with rural voters. We have lost a lot of ground in rural America to Republicans and disinformation. Critical Race Theory isn’t even taught in Virginia’s public schools, and yet that’s what Republican Glenn Youngkin ran on and won in Virginia.
In Virginia, we lost rural voters by 27 points. With that kind of margin, it becomes incredibly difficult to win a statewide election. With the rural skew of the Electoral College, the Supreme Court and the Senate, it is imperative we start investing in rural voter outreach NOW.
Nationwide, rural voters make up 20 percent of the electorate. We have to reach these voters! Chip in $10 to help us get organized in key rural areas ahead of the 2022 Election!
The conventional wisdom is that the party in power loses the midterm elections. It happened in 2010 where Democrats suffered massive losses in both the House and the Senate. While Democrats eventually won back the House, they’re still trying to crawl their way back to a stronger majority in the Senate.
50 Democrats in the Senate is not enough, John. And we can’t afford to lose the House either. Will you chip in $10 for our critical end-of-month fundraising deadline to help our campaign scale up ahead of the 2022 election?
Our mission: Move the needle by 5% in rural counties in key battleground states. If we can move the margin just 5%, it will be that much easier to win a statewide election.
There’s no time to waste! If we organize early, we can win. Let’s do this!
