Good morning, John!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Edwin Torres, and I just joined Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan's re-election campaign as Political Director.

As a Dreamer, politics has never been theoretical for me. My parents immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life when I was a child. Like millions of immigrants across the country, we've faced many hardships, and I've used those experiences as motivation to help others.

Since becoming the first person in my family to earn a college degree, I've been working for leaders in Minnesota who are committed to delivering transformative change for communities across our state, especially the most vulnerable. I couldn't be more proud to join this team as we take on what will undoubtedly be one of the most important elections in Minnesota history.

I've worked on many campaigns, and I'll tell you right now that we have a tough fight ahead of us. I can't overstate how important it is for us to keep our budget on track, which is why I'm asking for your help this morning: 

Our end-of-month fundraising deadline is at 11:59 pm tomorrow, and according to our fundraising team, we're still trailing behind our budget target by more than $14,000. Will you rush a contribution of $5 (or whatever works right now) to help us make up the difference?

Every election has consequences, and the stakes next year couldn't be higher. Donald Trump is no longer President, but Trumpism is still alive and well in the Minnesota Republican Party.

We are running against the same MN GOP legislators who forced out Governor Walz's commissioners at the height of the pandemic to score points the right-wing base, constantly spread COVID-19 and vaccine misinformation, and failed to put the health, safety, and economic security of our state ahead of their own political interests.

John, we cannot afford to let this Republican Party take us back to the politics of fear, division, and unhinged conspiracy theories. 

If you can, please make a contribution that works for you right away to help us climb back and reach our November budget target by tomorrow night.
