Hi John,
I'm Nargis, a member of the marketing team here at the IRC — and my colleagues and I are trying to reach as many of our supporters as we can today.
As a member of the IRC community, I wanted to make sure you were the first to know about our Giving Tuesday 2X match. If you donate through this email today, your gift will be doubled, helping us reach TWICE as many families facing humanitarian crises.

Right now, there are so many refugees and families in urgent need as new conflicts emerge while existing ones continue in many parts of the world. From Syria and Yemen to Ethiopia and Afghanistan, families are struggling to survive... especially as the long, dark winter sets in.
You can be one of the first to donate to IRC's Giving Tuesday campaign and help kick off this critical day for refugees around the world. Donating is quick, easy, and secure using Paypal or your card.
You can help us reach families in crisis and provide 2X as many critical items that help them stay warm, safe, and healthy so they can begin to rebuild their lives. Give now to help us provide emergency medical care, winter supplies like coats and blankets, clean drinking water and more.
John, our work with refugees around the world is possible because of individuals like you donating what you can. I know this from my five years working at the IRC — and as a former Afghan refugee myself.
With all that's happened over the past few months, I can't stop thinking of the people suffering in my home country. There is immense uncertainty right now and more than half of the country is facing a devastating food crisis. There really are 1 million children who are at risk of dying without immediate and lifesaving treatment for malnutrition.
As I write to you about this, I can't help but look over to my son. I often think of what might have been if we never got out of Kabul and weren’t resettled here in the U.S. The IRC, and supporters like you, made our new lives possible and I am grateful every day.
But right now, there are so many more people who need help, John. That's why we're extending this exclusive 2X match to you, a valued member of our community who always steps up for refugees.
Please make an urgent gift today to help the IRC reach vulnerable families who are currently living in fear — fear of the cold winter ahead, fear of violence and of famine.
