The Senate is officially back in session today, and there's a lot on their plate to get to before they leave town.
Here's what I think: Passing the Build Back Better Act as soon as possible should be a top priority this week.
But we know that this legislation is already facing the same, special interest opposition from the corporate PACs, Big Pharma, Wall Street, and fossil fuel companies that tried just about anything to kill it in the House. We need to do everything we can to build the momentum necessary to get the Senate to act immediately — so we can finally invest in our communities.
The Build Back Better Act will make the largest investment in working people in decades. That means paid leave, universal pre-k, affordable childcare, Medicare expansion, housing, climate action, lower prescription drug prices, and humane immigration reform. We can't afford to wait any longer to support families — and I'm grateful for your continued support to make this historic legislation a reality.
