It's almost December but we're keeping our focus on veterans.
Dear Friends,
On Veterans Day, we announced our #FreeIDsForVets campaign. This week, we want to introduce you to some of the veterans who inspired it.

Meet Michael, a veteran who was referred to Spread The Vote (our affiliated 501(c)(3) organization), by his case manager. He had relocated to Florida for a fresh start and planned to stay with an old military friend. Sadly, this friend was incarcerated right before Michael arrived and Michael ended up homeless. Our Spread The Vote colleagues worked with the DMV and Michael to determine what he needed and printed out copies of his documents for him before scheduling his DMV appointment. Without a valid ID, Michael could not secure employment, get his Patriot Passport transit card, or apply for food stamps. Shortly after his intake was done, Michael got his CDL, which opened up more job opportunities for him, in addition to everything else he planned to take care of once he had an ID again.
Without a printer or money, how would Michael have gotten his ID on his own?
It's a nearly impossible task. And change doesn't happen overnight. Which is why we're committing to veterans, and advocating for free IDs for them, every day until #FreeIDsForVets is a reality.
We're building our momentum now so we can start 2022 in the strongest possible position. Join us!
Donate now to help veterans get free ids
With gratitude,
