Dear friends -
As we usher in the holiday season, let’s remember those communities who are in great need this season. Despite an ongoing global pandemic, gun violence has reached devastatingly high levels nationwide and Black and Brown communities have been hit the hardest.
Gun violence takes lives or leaves long-lasting scars for those impacted. Too many Black and Brown Americans don’t feel safe in their own communities - fearing an encounter with a neighbor or the police could turn deadly. This is not ok!
Together we can end the crisis of gun violence. Please donate to Community Justice today for Giving Tuesday! [[link removed]]
Since our inception, CJAF has set out to reverse the unfortunate and often overlooked impact of gun violence on communities of color by:
*
Changing

conversation
around
gun
violence
prevention
through
educational
and
media
campaigns
that
highlight
the
root
causes
of
violence
in

*

and

*
Strengthening

power
of
the
Black
and
brown
communities
most
impacted
by
gun
violence
to
advocate

to
end

violence.
*
Transforming

and

the
decision-making
table.
We believe we can end gun violence in Black and Brown communities by organizing neighbors, building coalitions and making investments in more community support, not more police. We believe in investing in communities hardest hit by gun violence, not criminalizing them.
And most of all, we believe that by listening to and learning from the voices and needs of those most affected by gun violence, we can move beyond conventional approaches and focus on solutions that effectively tackle the root causes of that violence.
This #GivingTuesday we are asking you to support our work to build power in communities of color to end gun violence. [[link removed]]
