Hi John, it's Abby. I'm reaching out about my campaign against Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) – and today, I'm asking you to make your very first contribution by donating just $5. I hope you'll allow me a moment to explain why.

You see, I have every intention of defeating Sen. Chuck Grassley – and right now, he's never been more vulnerable: Only 27% of likely Iowa voters say they want to reelect him to an eighth term. 

But Republicans know just as well as you and I do that Sen. Grassley is on thin ice with Iowans. That's why Donald Trump flew to Iowa to endorse him at a MAGA rally just a few weeks ago. Now, the GOP establishment is rallying against us – and their Senate campaign arm is sitting on a $27 million war chest dedicated to defeating Democrats like me and taking back the Senate.

None of that scares me – I know we can win. But I also know that flipping Iowa blue is going to take a powerful grassroots movement. So, John, I've got to ask: Can you make your first grassroots contribution of $5 right now to defeat Sen. Grassley and protect our Democratic Senate majority?

As a young woman in public service, I can't count the number of times I've been underestimated or counted out. But I've never been one to back down from a challenge, and I know the power of hard work: I won in a primary against men double my age, flipped a House seat blue and became the youngest woman to pass legislation through the House.

At the end of the day, that's what flipping this seat blue and protecting our Senate control is going to take: hard work. Lots of it, too.

The work ahead to defeat Grassley won't be easy, but I know that with a  movement of committed grassroots supporters like you, we can – and will – win.
