Dear Friend
--
In 1973, the Supreme Court found a constitutional right to
abortion in the landmark case Roe v. Wade. Nearly 50 years
later, the Supreme Court is poised to reconsider the legal foundation
that laid the groundwork for the abortion debate in post-Roe
America.
This Wednesday, December 1st, the Supreme Court will
hear oral arguments for Dobbs v. Jackson, a case that arose
from Mississippi’s “Gestational Age Act” passed in 2018. By June of
2022, the Supreme Court will issue its opinion in Dobbs,
potentially righting the ship of a dark history of abortion on demand
that has resulted in killing 68 million preborn
humans in the United States alone. Whatever the result, one
thing is for certain: the Supreme Court is uniquely poised to
reconfigure modern abortion jurisprudence set into motion by
Roe.
The outcome of Dobbs could mark a
striking shift away from the deeply flawed viability standard that has
governed legal and legislative behavior for the past
half-century. Science has changed the way we view the inception of
human life, and it’s time for the law to catch up to the
science.
And so we're doing everything we can to inform
the Court's decision.
Since our inception as an organization, defending the unborn has
been central to the purpose of our existence. Whether it is
championing pro-life legislation like our Human Life Nondiscrimination
Act (HB453),
or filing amicus
briefs for important pro-life cases like
Dobbs vs. Jackson, we are doing our part to advance the cause
of life. We're even planning to be in D.C. this week to amplify your
voice on the steps of the Supreme Court during oral arguments.
Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, a global day of
generosity that takes place November 30th. It's also a great
opportunity to support organizations that are working to protect the
lives of the unborn.
If
you support our work protecting life, would you consider making a
one-time or monthly donation of $25, $50, $100, or more in honor of
#GivingTuesday?
PS: Thanks to a generous
donor, every dollar you donate will be matched and have its impact
DOUBLED!
Thank you for your
continued support and generosity!
