This is how I spent my morning on Thanksgiving, John:

30% of folks in Marietta live in poverty, John. We need to support each other, especially on days like this. Community is all we got.
I’m constantly talking about how important community is, and I believe in the power of collective healing. My family and I leaned on our community when we were going through our toughest struggles, and to be honest, I don’t know where we’d be today if we didn’t have that support system.
During my trip, I saw just how many folks were in the Marietta community working hard and hoping to see it turn around. We can’t keep waiting for corporate politicians to fix our communities. We’ve got to lead that charge. That’s why I’m humbly asking you today: Can you donate $5, $3, $2, or anything you can, to our campaign today so we can fight to build strong communities across Ohio? We need 700 contributions before tomorrow at midnight and we’re not there yet.
After I left Marietta, I got the sweetest message from a young person who lives in the community:
This is why I’m running, John. Communities like Marietta and my own childhood community have been ignored for far too long. Corporate-backed politicians ignore communities like ours in favor of lining their own pockets. We deserve real change and real progress, not empty promises.
So let’s do this. Together with your help, John, we can show these comfortable politicians that Ohio is ready for change. Can you donate anything you can to help us reach our goal of 700 contributions by midnight tomorrow?
The status quo won’t cut it anymore.
Thank you for being a part of this team,
Morgan
