Support Skilled Trades Workers
Skilled trades workers have always had to travel for work – that’s why we’re called journeypeople. Projects arise, are built, and are completed at different times in different regions across the country.
Right now, the cost to travel for work – mileage, accommodations, food – aren’t tax deductible and aren’t always covered by an employer. When costs aren’t covered by an employer, skilled trades workers should receive equal treatment under the Tax Act.
We are calling on the Federal Government to implement a Skilled Trades Workforce Mobility Tax Deduction. All major parties supported a Skilled Trades Workforce Mobility Tax Deduction in the last election, and now we need them to move forward and make it happen.
But we also need your help.
- Visit our website and sign your name to send a letter calling for the Federal Government to implement a Skilled Trades Workforce Mobility Tax Deduction today.
- Share the campaign with your network, family and friends and ask them to show their support by sending a letter.
- Like, share and use our campaign materials to let the Federal Government know, skilled trades workers need support.
Supporting a skilled labour mobility tax deduction just makes sense – more workers will be able to afford to travel for work, fewer will have to rely on programs such as EI, and skilled trades workers can get back to building Canada and rebuilding our economy.
