John — I’m Kelsey, a friend of Val’s, and I’m reaching out to share my story about the importance of protecting abortion access in Pennsylvania and across the country.

In February 2016, I had an abortion at 22 weeks after an ultrasound revealed my son had severe fetal anomalies.

I chose to end the pregnancy because, while difficult, it was the most merciful thing I could do for my son.

If it were up to anti-abortion state legislatures here in Pennsylvania and in other parts of the country, my abortion could have been illegal. In fact, this summer, Pennsylvania Republicans even tried to pass a six-week ban, and it is only a matter of time before more and more states try to model Texas’s six-week ban to pass laws of their own.

It is clearer than ever that we need strong, federal protections to enshrine our right to an abortion into law, which will take more in Washington who will fight to codify Roe v. Wade. That’s why I support sending Val to the U.S. Senate.

She’s a strong abortion rights advocate who will work around the clock to enshrine the right to an abortion into federal law and fight back against attacks on abortion care.

Will you join me in supporting Val’s fight to protect and expand abortion rights by chipping in any amount to her campaign for U.S. Senate? We need an abortion rights champion like her in Washington to protect the right to abortion care, no matter where you live.

I was and always will be my son's biggest advocate. It's the reason I chose to let him go and save him from knowing only pain and suffering. It's the reason I continue to tell his story, our story. My baby didn't need anyone else to speak for him — especially not a politician we've never met.

As a physician, a woman, and a mom, Val understands that these deeply personal decisions don’t belong in the hands of politicians. We need more leaders like her in the U.S. Senate, and I’m honored to help build the campaign to get her there.
