Tomorrow is our end-of-month fundraising deadline, and I have two things I want to share with you today.
The first is this: Based on the average donation this month and patterns of giving from previous months, I'm seeing that we're going to need at least 124 donations today to reach our $20,000 goal.
It's not a small number of people — but it's exactly what we need to do to meet our goal and stay on track, and ensure that our movement is able to make critical investments to set ourselves up for success in 2022, including keeping Jamaal in Congress. With the New York primary election happening in June, we have less than eight months left to do everything we can to ensure that Jamaal — an unapologetic progressive who causes problems for the status quo — stays in Congress.
Jamaal already has a challenger in the race that's officially filed to run. And with congressional district lines being redrawn and finalized here in New York, there's likely soon to be more in the coming months. We need to be prepared for this, John, and we can't do it without your support.
