Happy Hanukkah From the ZOA! Dear Friends and Supporters of the ZOA, Happy Hanukkah from all of us at the Zionist Organization of America! On this particular holiday, we celebrate the miraculous survival of the Jewish people, and the Maccabees’ success in defending Judea & Samaria and preventing the abandonment of Jewish life through assimilation. We recall the extraordinary achievements throughout history that have led to consistent Jewish observance throughout the world and to the vibrant Jewish State of Israel. However, despite all of the good, Jews are facing constant threats throughout the world, including in America and inside our education system. Zionist and Israel-friendly programs are being shut down on college and university campuses throughout the U.S.; American students are being taught that standing against Israel is a necessary component of “social justice”; and Israel is being constantly defamed in the United States Congress by sitting Congress members without penalty. This year’s FBI hate crime report details that 60% of the hate crimes reported in 2020 were antisemitic, while Jews only make up 2% of the country’s population. This shows a 6% increase since 2019. The ZOA is working hard to fight for Israel and the Jewish people, including its Center for Law and Justice, ZOA Campus, and the Government Relations department. The ZOA is the ONLY Jewish organization that has been outspoken in opposing the many hostile-to-Israel appointees in the Biden administration; In speaking out against the antisemitic violence of the Black Lives Matter organization; and In loudly rejecting the opening of a dangerous, divisive Palestinian Arab-U.S. consulate in Jerusalem, which will be the first step in dividing Jerusalem and recognizing false Palestinian Arab claims to the Jewish capital. In fact, ZOA placed huge banners earlier this month on prominent buildings in Jerusalem, proclaiming “No to a Palestinian consulate; Yes to an undivided Jerusalem,” in both Hebrew and English. These efforts are costly, and are funded by donations. Thank you for supporting ZOA and the remarkable work of the organization. Wishing you a chag sameach and a healthy and happy new year, Morton A. GIVE HERE About Us News Videos ZOA Report Events Founded in 1897, ZOA played a key role in the Jewish State's re-establishment. Today, ZOA is the leading major American Jewish organization courageously defending Israel and the Jewish people; fighting against all forms of antisemitism, including anti-Jewish boycotts; and promoting the Jewish people's lawful right to live in and settle historic Jewish lands. ZOA exposes that a Palestinian state would endanger Israel's existence; presents the facts about the Arab/Islamic war against Israel; and combats the anti-Israel lie that Israel is an "occupier" of her own land. ZOA spearheaded long battles to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, and apply civil rights protections to Jewish students. ZOA provides free legal assistance and programs to pro-Israel students at numerous college campuses. ZOA's bold, unapologetic voice has a significant impact on public discourse and policy.
