Dear Friend of EMET,

We at EMET want to wish you a joyous Chanukah. Chanukah is a holiday celebrating an ancient miracle, bt our history has taught us that we cannot depend on miracles alone.

Now is one of those points in Jewish history.

On Saturday, Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Abolfazi Shekarchi said, “We will not back off from the annihilation of Israel ([link removed]) , even one millimeter. We want to destroy Zionism in the world.”

This morning, the United States and other world powers are convening with the Islamic Republic of Iran to negotiate a nuclear deal. Iran has already taught us—over and over again—that they cheat.

This was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, but most impressively by the Mossad’s daring raid in a warehouse in the missile of Tehran, when they came back with reams of papers showing how Iran cheated on the 1970 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the 2015 Nuclear deal.

At a conference in the Reichman Institute in Herzliya, Israel, former Israeli National Security Advisor Gen. Yaakov Amidror said, “Without a military threat and pressure on Iran, nothing will result from a deal.”

He ominously added ([link removed]) , “The world will not lift a finger. The Americans won’t carry out a single mission.”

EMET does not wait for miracles. Every day, we are meeting with policymakers or their staff on Capitol Hill to explain how dangerous an Iranian nuclear bomb is, not only for Israel, but for the region and the world. We try to move the needle a little bit to have members empathize with the Jewish state, amd what Israel is up against.

Please see what it is that EMET does every single day here ([link removed]) .

Only Israel seems to have the courage to do what must be done in the face of a brutal Iranian regime with hegemonic ambitions. And we are on Capitol Hill trying to get our lawmakers to give Israel the equipment it needs to defend itself, by itself.

But we need your help. EMET is in the midst of an urgent Giving Tuesday campaign ([link removed]) to raise money to reach more policymakers every day. Every single dollar up to $100,000 will be matched, dollar for dollar.

We must continue to tell Israel’s story so that Israel is not abandoned within the community of nations.

Thank you very much.

Sending my warmest wishes for a Happy Chanukah,
Sarah
