A new Community Centre will open in Sneinton in November!
Volunteers who have previously formed the Management Committees of Sneinton Hermitage and TRACs have come together and will manage the new Community Hub-Sneinton, in the former Sneinton Library building on Sneinton Boulevard.
It will be great to bring this beautiful building back into community use. The building will officially be opened in the new year.
Community gardens in Sneinton have been shortlisted for awards recently.
The playground on Lees Hill Street, the community garden on Lindum Grove as well as the community garden at Green’s Mill have all been shortlisted in the Nottingham City Homes best garden competition.
Thanks to all the volunteers who have made these parts of Dales Ward such lovely places to visit!

Residents of Parkdale Road are now being formally consulted on plans to slow down speeding traffic on this road in Bakersfield. We have put money aside to pay for this work which has been asked for by many residents who are concerned about some drivers travelling too fast and the significant danger this poses.

Following complaints from residents of Greenwood Road about tree cover, we have arranged for the lower branches to be pruned, lifting the canopy of the trees. Further resources have been put aside to allow similar work for the trees on Sneinton Dale in the next few months.
We, your local Councillors would be pleased to see you at our Community Litter Picks which take place on the last Saturday of the month, meeting at the Dales Centre at 11.15am.
Come along, meet like-minded local people who want to keep our area nice and get some fresh air and exercise too!

Nottingham City Council’s Trading Standards team are asking Nottingham residents to be careful when buying presents for children:
-
Look for the CE or UKCA mark: These symbols on the label or box mean the manufacturer has assessed the toy for safety
-
Button-batteries can kill: Check they are screwed in firmly and safely before giving to a child
-
Check age restrictions: Toys must be clearly marked with age restrictions - always follow them, they’re there for a reason

On scams generally - remember, if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. These include festive getaways at very low prices and ‘easy’ ways to make money, like cryptocurrency and investments. Take a moment to check Citizens Advice’s Online Scams Helper to protect yourself.
