The Agenda this week: With Thanksgiving behind us, we look ahead to an opportunity to undo a 48-year-old tragedy at the Supreme Court. We also hear from Heritage’s next president, Dr. Kevin Roberts, plus other highlights from this year’s President’s Club summit. And we show how “Build Back Better” would stifle seniors’ security. There are events and podcasts you don’t want to miss, either.
A Rare Chance to Correct Roe v. Wade
Sins of the past: They say hindsight is 20/20, but it was always clear that Roe v. Wade had been wrongly decided. Even liberal legal scholars are hard-pressed to justify the ruling, which created one of the most permissive abortion regimes in the world.
A chance at redemption: With the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, the court can correct its grave mistake and acknowledge that the Roe decision wasn’t constitutional or based in reality.

Passing the Torch: Kay C. James Interviews Dr. Kevin Roberts
President’s Club: Heritage President Kay C. James spoke with Dr. Kevin Roberts at the annual President’s Club Summit, an exclusive event for Heritage President’s Club members that was held this year in Orlando, Florida.
The inside scoop: Roberts, who takes the helm Wednesday, provided insight into some things you won’t discover just by reading his bio, including his faith and upbringing, his top policy priorities, and his strategies for achieving conservative victories.
Roberts’ charge: When asked how he would lead Heritage, Roberts said, “On day one, offense all the time.”

Heritage President’s Club Summit Caps Off 2021 With a Bang
A summit for the ages: The President’s Club summit brought together conservative leaders and Heritage supporters from across the country and equipped them to take on the battles of 2022.
A who’s who: The event featured an all-star cast of policy experts, business leaders, conservative activists, and elected officials, including a keynote speech by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. You can watch that here <[link removed]>.

How Biden’s Massive Government Spending Package Could Hurt Social Security
Seniors ... shmeniors? The Biden administration has made much ado about all the Build Back Better Act’s supposed benefits to children, families, and green energy. But the bill offers a raw deal to one demographic—senior citizens.
Shorting Social Security: While creating new entitlements, it does nothing about Social Security’s $19.8 trillion in unfunded liabilities and could cost seniors $750 a year in lost benefits.
What’s the alternative? “Instead of creating new entitlement programs,” write Heritage research fellows Rachel Greszler and Drew Gronshorowski, “policymakers should first ensure that America’s existing entitlement programs will be there for those who need them.” They highlight ways to fix Social Security <[link removed]>.
