Happy Halloween! I was glad to be able to join my neighbors and thousands of our South Bend children earlier this week at a community trick-or-treat event. It’s a great annual tradition that brings out the best in our community.

Tonight, though, I am in Iowa preparing for a different tradition -- the “Liberty and Justice Celebration” -- where I’ll have the opportunity to speak to thousands of caucus-goers directly about our bold vision for the future.

I’m going to talk about the day after the Trump presidency. We’ll be more torn apart by politics than we are right now. That day, America will need a leader ready to pick up the pieces, committed to bringing us together rather than pushing us even further apart -- and prepared to rally the country behind bold ideas to meet the urgent challenges we face.

I will be that leader, and I’m thrilled to be able to present that directly to Iowans tomorrow.
