John,

With the House passing the Build Back Better Act and the Senate set to return to the Capitol this week, we have a real opportunity right now to combat climate change while creating hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs.

But with Joe Manchin as Chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, essential climate investments are being needlessly cut back.

So, after months of watching climate provisions get watered down by Manchin, we must continue amping up our pressure to make sure he is no longer in charge of Senate climate policy.

The climate crisis is already going to be the biggest policy challenge of our lifetimes, so excluding substantial action in this legislation would be completely unacceptable.

That’s why we cannot afford to have Joe Manchin as Chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

While climate change sometimes doesn't get the attention it deserves, it’s by far the biggest threat to our country and our world. Even though the scientific process continues to confirm this, we are not doing enough to prevent the worst impacts of this crisis.

We know climate change is real, it’s here, and there’s little time for us to prevent it from turning into a devastating disaster –- one that will wreak havoc on some of the most vulnerable communities across the planet.

As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Joe Manchin is responsible for regulating the fossil fuel industry, but we cannot trust him to act in the best interest of the climate when he owns millions of dollars in coal stocks.

Tell Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer: Replace Senator Joe Manchin as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources now.

Thank you for taking action. Seriously addressing the climate crisis is going to require all of us.
