John --
Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend Update.
First, on behalf of Shelley, our family and I, we hope each one of you had a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. As we gathered with loved ones this holiday weekend, I would ask that you remember to give thanks and pray for our military, who are away from home protecting and preserving our country and freedom around the world.
We were thankful to spend the week in the 9th Congressional District. Earlier this week, I enjoyed spending time at Panther Valley School reading to pre-k children and hearing from administration officials. It is critical our children receive a quality education, and parents’ voices continue to be heard.
Additionally, I conducted a walking tour of small businesses in Kutztown. As a member of the House Small Business Committee, I find conversations with local small business owners beneficial. Many are dealing with many obstacles as we emerge from the COVID crisis. There are a lot of pressures facing the small business community, and we need to make sure they have what they need coming out of this. They are working to confront labor shortages, higher prices of goods, and additional mandates from the Biden administration and the Washington, D.C. liberal elites. I also wanted to highlight our small businesses and their daily work in a competitive and changing economy. I continue to encourage our family, friends, and neighbors to buy local this holiday season. Click here to read an article from the Reading Eagle <[link removed]> on my visit.
This week, I joined Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business to discuss the massive liberal spending package that recently passed the U.S. House. I voted against this horrific plan. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch.

I also joined our good friend Chuck Volpe to discuss this broken agenda. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch part 1 of the interview.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Our nation’s energy issues are getting worse as prices soar due to the Biden administration’s attack on domestic energy production.
It was announced this week that Biden is releasing <[link removed]> 50 million barrels from the reserve after months of attacking <[link removed]> U.S. energy, stripping away <[link removed]> our energy independence, and begging OPEC <[link removed]> to produce more.
For the record, 50 million barrels account for only three days of domestic energy consumption and does not make up for his months of anti-energy policies. What’s worse, he’s doubling down on policies that are causing higher energy prices:
- Heating costs are increasing by as much as 54% this winter <[link removed]>, but now Biden wants to levy a home heating tax <[link removed]> through his Build Back Broke plan.
- Gas prices are at their highest points <[link removed]> in almost a decade, but Press Secretary Jen Psaki lied <[link removed]>, then doubled down <[link removed]> on canceling Keystone XL and implied high prices were the point <[link removed]> of Biden’s plan.
- Energy costs are surging, but Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm laughed <[link removed]> and called price increases part of Biden’s energy “transition <[link removed]>.”

On nearly every occasion, when the Biden administration is held to account for their horrific policies, they tell Americans to basically suck it up.
- Higher fuel prices
- Out-of-control inflation and increased costs for goods and food
- Lack of supplies
- Worker shortage
In response, the Biden administration and liberal Democrats tell Americans to suck it up and double down on the policies creating the crisis.
The Biden administration’s failed agenda has caused numerous problems for Americans, and their answer is to suck it up. We need a leadership change in Washington, and that begins with winning back control of the U.S. House in 2022.
I wish good luck to all Pennsylvania hunters this weekend and for the remainder of Buck/rifle season. Today, I am with my son Danny. Nothing worth shooting yet, but I am greatly enjoying the outdoors and special time with my son. Even though he’s now 19, we sat together all morning. Since his Dad's luck wasn’t great, he’s heading up our property. I reminded him of the old Native American term for bad hunter…..Vegetarian.
Enjoy the outdoors hunters and see you all on the trail… well, hopefully not your deer trail.
