John,
Our sisterhood is so important to us. And since Giving Tuesday is just TWO days away, we want to highlight some of the amazing work Emerge alums are doing OFF the campaign trail. Today we’re introducing you to three organizations – led by three powerhouse alums – that advance equity and create opportunities for women, girls, and changemakers all over the country.

The KYB Leadership Academy
Founded by Emerge Tennessee alum Dr. Katherine Y. Brown, the KYB Leadership Academy is a leadership development program for high school and college students that encourages them to pursue careers in health care. The Academy is an important extension of Dr. Brown’s commitment to saving lives and reducing health disparities all over the country.

Connecticut Women's Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF)
Emerge Connecticut alum Janée Woods Weber is the new executive director of the Connecticut Women's Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF). CWEALF defends and advances rights and opportunities for women and girls through legal advocacy services, community education, public policy, and more.
Elect Black Women PAC
Ruby Powell-Dennis, Emerge Tennessee, founded the Elect Black Women PAC in 2020 to endorse, empower, and elevate Black women candidates at the federal, state, and municipal levels. At a time when Black women’s capacity to lead is STILL constantly scrutinized and invalidated, Elect Black Women PAC makes early investments that raise candidates’ profiles and keep them in crucial races.
We are so proud of the deep and lasting community work Emerge alums are doing on and off the campaign trail. We trust their dedication and their proven capacity to show up and get things done. And most importantly, we trust them to lead at every level. So please, support our alums this Giving Tuesday by making a donation to the KYB Leadership Academy, CWEALF, and Elect Black Women PAC.
Thank you for being a part of our vision.

– Team Emerge
Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are running up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities, such as the environment, accessible and affordable health care, social justice, and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.
You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support — that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
