The situation in Texas, where so many patients essentially have no access to abortion, is a true crisis. The state's Senate Bill 8 (S.B. 8) bans abortion at around six weeks — before many people know they're pregnant — and continues to harm thousands of people. Those who can afford to do so are forced to travel out of state to Planned Parenthood health centers and other providers. Along with partners, we've been fighting to block S.B. 8 in the courts, all the way up to the Supreme Court — but litigation takes time, and patients need access to abortion now.
