Team, Violent extremism has no place in the halls of Congress. This month, every NewDem voted with the entire Democratic caucus to censure GOP Rep. Paul Gosar after he tweeted out a cartoon video of him killing Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Only two Republicans in the House voted to condemn Rep. Gosar’s actions, while 99% of House Republicans refused to condemn him. Following the vote, GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy stated that if Republicans take back the House next year, he would reinstate Rep. Gosar to all of his committees. Extremists may have found a home in the Republican Party, but they will never have a place in a Democratic House. In 2022, NewDems are running to bring American politics BACK to the center — keeping focus on policies over politics, and winning over Americans on the merit of our ideas, NOT division or distraction. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Our democracy is on the line in 2022. We’re glad to have you with us as we help defend it.
