FairVote

Happy Halloween, Friend!

In just five days, the largest city in the country could pass ranked choice voting (RCV)!

I asked voters on the streets of New York what they thought about having a ranked ballot instead of choosing just one candidate.

Here is what they said:

Watch: Voters on the streets of New York City tell us why they like ranked choice voting.

If passed in NYC, ranked choice voting would go into effect in 2021 for primaries and special elections, giving New York voters more choice and power in their local elections.

New Yorkers—and all Americans, for that matter—love having more choices.

RCV is non-partisan. It’s great for voters, because they can vote for the candidate they like the most without helping elect the candidate they like the least.

Plus, it changes the way that candidates campaign by incentivizing them to reach beyond their base to gain broad support in order to earn a majority of votes to win an election.

Help win Ranked Choice Voting in New York City by encouraging New Yorkers to vote and pass Measure 1!

It has never been a more perfect time to improve our local, state and national elections, and it all begins by changing the ballot.

Since Tuesday, Nov. 5 is just days away, we need your help reaching out to your friends in New York City, and sharing our video on Facebook and Twitter.

It could make all the difference.

Thanks!
