I want to start out by telling you all that I was thinking of you on Thanksgiving. Don't worry - not in a creepy stalker kind of way. 😉

I was thinking about 2021 and how challenging it has been, yet how fortunate I am.

Our family sat at tables that were short of 3 people this year, two lost to Covid and one simply of age. We lost our dearly loved dog Bella after a devastatingly rapid tumor made life unbearable for her. The night before we had to take that last ride in the Jeep, she rolled around in the park in joy. We should all be so lucky. There was distance between me and some people I care about - not because of any ill feelings. It's just how things happened.

As far as business was concerned, I ran into all sorts of issues this year. I had trouble getting a new business account when my former bank closed, despite stellar credit. I got defamed as a person who dispenses disinformation. My business was defunded by those who disagree with the things I believe in so strongly.

Okay, I know it sounds miserable so far. But bear with me because I'm getting to the good part.

I'm living near one of my daughters for the time being and finally got to see the other after being separated for nearly two years. A family member is receiving long-awaited medical help. My friends are thriving in their own ways. When times were bad, those people with whom there was some distance? They were on the phone immediately letting me know they care.

And then there was you.

The news right now is all about the Omicron variant of Covid. I hate to say it, but *yawn*. It's "the worst" and "most deadly" and "most contagious" variant ever. Oh, and it's "probably vaccine-resistant," too.

As I've written before, viruses mutate. That is the nature of viruses. Most of the time, mutations are not actually "worse," they're just different. If they kill off all their hosts, they die too. Remember the brouhaha about "Super Covid" a while back?

Governments are losing all that delicious control they've grown so fond of, and they don't like it. So watch what you actually see and pay less attention to the breathless news reports on this one. I'm very skeptical about it. And I am not a "Covid doesn't exist person." I've had it and it sucked. But this? I am thoroughly unconvinced that this is going to be the one that gets us all unless we roll up our sleeves yet again for the latest and greatest from Pfizer and friends. I could be wrong...we'll just have to see what happens.
