Today's a big day for me. It's Halloween (my favorite holiday), the Nats are World Series champs, and I'm about to hit the road for a final weekend of campaigning before Virginia's elections on Tuesday.

For the better part of this past year, I've been traveling all over Virginia supporting more than 50 Democrats running up and down the ballot. I know I've got my own election coming up soon, but this is important to me. We need to flip the General Assembly because, frankly, health care access, public education, and commonsense gun law reform here in Virginia — not to mention the ERA — are all on the ballot next week.

But today is also the last day of the month, which means my campaign is facing an important fundraising deadline tonight at midnight. I've been focused on my work in the Senate and Tuesday's General Assembly elections. But starting Wednesday, we're going to enter a new phase of this campaign, and we need to hit the ground running.

In addition to campaigning for Virginia Democrats, I've been busy building up the campaign operation we're going to need to win in 2020. My last campaign was a close one, and with a field of GOP opponents now lining up to run against me, I'm not taking any chances. Already, we've made key hires and started developing the game plan to keep Virginia blue in 2020 and beat Donald Trump.

But frankly, all of that hinges on hitting our fundraising goals and staying on track. That's why I'm asking you for your help before midnight tonight. We're still 126 supporters short of our 400 new supporter goal, but according to the numbers my team just sent me, we could easily hit our goal if everyone reading this chipped in $5 right now.
