Multiple Republicans in Congress have already offered congressional internships to Kyle Rittenhouse, who was just acquitted of murdering two people at a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year.
This is some of the worst judgement we have seen from elected officials. We cannot let these Republicans take over the House -- donate to our work today!
Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz offered up a congressional internship to Rittenhouse before he was even acquitted. Gaetz said his team “may reach out to him [Rittenhouse] and see if he’d be interested in helping the country in additional ways.”
Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar said he’d “arm wrestle Matt Gaetz to get dibs for Kyle as an intern”.
Meanwhile, North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn waited until mere moments after the verdict was read to jump on his Instagram story and offer up the job. He also went a step further telling his followers to “be armed” and “be dangerous”.
Let’s be clear: Kyle Rittenhouse did nothing to “help” the country. He shot and killed two men who were protesting for racial justice.
Still, Republicans in Congress are defending him.
The 2022 midterms have never been more crucial. We cannot let Republicans with questionable morals like Gaetz and Cawthorn take control.
