When I first met Monica Tranel, I knew this person is the one who can defeat Ryan Zinke, and restore dignity to Montana’s seat in the US House of Representatives.

Here are three things Monica is, and Ryan Zinke is not.

First, Monica’s life is 100 percent Montana-centered. No Santa Barbara detours for her. She grew up with 10 kids in a Montana ranch family. She and her husband are raising their family in Montana. And her career is practicing law in Montana representing Montanans.

Second, Monica has a broad coalition of support – all sides. This race cannot be won without a broad coalition, nor should it be. Montana is diverse. Monica’s life is testament to the strength of that diversity.

Third, if your ear is to the ground you will know that small business has felt left out of the political discussion for some time. Small business is Montana’s economic backbone - family operations, main street commerce, rural enterprises, small tech. We are in a battle of the ages against the giants – giant ag, giant industry, giant retail, giant IT. Monica’s career has been on the front line representing the small and fighting the giants.

So here is a mother of three who can trall cows, fix fences, argue before the Supreme Court, face down corporate lawyers, and row all the way to the Olympics.
