There's a countdown on the wall at the headquarters of the Alabama GOP.

Tomorrow, it’ll read 368 days. We’re just over a year out from Election Day.

When the countdown hits zero, their logic goes, Alabama is going to vote Doug Jones out of office. This election is clearly their sole focus for next year.

The extremists will stop at nothing to beat Doug Jones. That's where you come in. Will you help us make sure Doug wins next fall and keeps serving us in the U.S. Senate?

At least Mitch McConnell has had a reality check. He and his extremist allies in Washington are trying to recruit Jeff Sessions because the field is so weak. Sessions has a big war chest and has held the office before. This is the clearest indication yet that it's "game on" from the other side. We have to be ready.

The truth is, we can beat anyone they put up against us. Sessions? He's too extreme and too divisive for our state. He represents so much of what we've been working so hard to move past as a state. We don't need another hyper-partisan divider in Washington, and we sure don't need anyone who'll embarrass us. We've got to come together to get things done.

Please, chip in today and let's make sure that Jeff Sessions or any of these other extremists never have the chance to embarrass us in the Senate.
