Today is Small Business Saturday, and I know I'll be spending the day visiting some of my favorite local businesses.

From King's Books in Tacoma to the Christmas Shop in Gig Harbor, from Swain's in Port Angeles to the Quimper Mercantile in Port Townsend, from Amy's Decadent Chocolates in Bremerton to Bon Bon Candies on Bainbridge (are you sensing a theme), my favorite places to buy Christmas gifts are local businesses. I'm sure there are fantastic small businesses in your hometown where you can buy gifts for the holidays or grab a meal with loved ones, and today's the perfect day to do it!

As someone who spent nearly a decade in economic development, it’s a huge priority of mine to create more economic opportunity for folks in our region, and that includes supporting our local employers, workers, and their families.

Main Street really needs our support now, friend. COVID-19 closed down countless local businesses, and many of the places that remain open are still struggling to bounce back financially. Your decision to shop local today could make a huge difference.
