John,
Before the House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act, we ran billboards all over the country, getting corporate Democrats in line with President Biden’s plan to lower prescription drug prices and expand Medicare.
Now, it’s the Senate’s turn to act. And Sen. Joe Manchin hasn’t committed to supporting it. So we’re bringing our billboard trucks to West Virginia to make sure that Manchin’s constituents can keep the pressure up!
But here’s the problem: West Virginia is a lot more expensive than New York or New Jersey. There are fewer mobile billboard vendors, and making sure that we can hit every major population center there means we have to pay for hotels for the truck driver. That means that putting pressure on Sen. Manchin will cost 3-5 times what we spent on Reps. Rice, Gotthiemer, and Peters.
Billboard trucks work. They’re a great way to get the attention of local media and constituents at the same time. Can you pitch in $7 to make sure that we can get Joe Manchin’s vote on Build Back Better, and finally lower prescription drug prices and expand Medicare?
Thanks,
