Fellow Conservative,
Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you had some delicious turkey and spent some quality time with family and friends.

We at Heritage Action have much to be thankful for during this holiday season. In particular, we’re thankful for YOU––you are the reason we fight day in and day out and your dedication to America is inspiring.

All of our policy goals––from stopping Biden’s tax, debt, and spending spree to passing election integrity reforms––are impossible without your tireless efforts.

It’s easy to get so focused on the work that needs to be done that we can forget how much we already have. So on this Thanksgiving week, we pause and give thanks for you and for all that you do!
December 3 Spending Showdown
We’re going to keep it short this week, but we did want to turn your attention to what’s looking like an important day––December 3.

Here’s why: December 3 is the deadline to pass legislation to continue funding the government, or the government will enter a shutdown on December 4. Congress is broken, and failed to follow its own budgeting and appropriations process on time in 2021. So in September, Congress agreed to a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) that funded the government through December 3.

Something to be thankful for in a CR: The silver lining is the current CR (and a possible future one extending past December 3) maintains Trump-era policy priorities and funding levels. One example—a CR maintains the Hyde Amendment to protect unborn children by prohibiting taxpayer dollars from funding abortions.

If Democrats managed to get their act together and actually work out a new budget, they’d use it as yet another opportunity to radically transform America.

As Congress works on a deal to fund the government, there are two related spending issues that are inherently part of the conversation:

- The Biden agenda is not cheap and we don’t have the money to pay for it. Congress will need to pass a long term debt limit increase by December 15, or the federal government will not be able to meet its obligations—the government could begin defaulting on its debt.

- Senate Democrats will be working to pass the multi-trillion dollar Build Back Broke bill (which the House passed <[link removed]> one week ago). The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates this bill would add at least another $367 billion to the national debt <[link removed]>. The negotiations around this bill will also affect negotiations over the debt limit and the funding of the federal government.

It’s not just the spending levels in the Build Back Broke bill that are scary—this bill literally has Bernie Sanders’s and AOC’s entire progressive agenda. From amnesty for illegal immigrants to 80,000 new IRS agents to target and harass American citizens.

It contains the Green New Deal. It expands cradle-to-grave socialism.

And hypocritically, the bill even breaks a fundamental promise of Biden’s campaign, by giving ‘coastal elites’ who live in failing states a blue-state bailout through the tax code.

That’s right, Democrats are making life harder for middle America while simultaneously handing a major tax carve out to their millionaire donors in blue states <[link removed]> like California, New York, and New Jersey.
To be clear—the middle class will NOT be getting a tax cut. A family making $50,000 a year can expect to pay MORE in taxes—that’s why we call it the “Build Back Broke” act.

>>>Take Action: Tell your Senators to reject Biden’s Build Back Broke bill! <[link removed]>

The next couple of weeks will be hectic on Capitol Hill. Funding of the government, debt limit, and the Build Back Broke bill will be front and center in the policy fights ahead.

Congress likes to run these spending deadlines right up to the holidays, so they can force bad deals on representatives who want to leave to be with their families. And the swampy politicians hope you won’t remember their bad actions come election day.

But that’s why Heritage Action stays vigilant. We maintain our own “naughty and nice list” so that voters do remember. If you ever want to know how your representatives voted on key legislation, just check out our congressional scorecard <[link removed]>.
Last week to Submit a Comment with OSHA
As you know, opposing Biden’s unlawful vaccine mandate is an important stand against executive tyranny and for our individual liberty. One way to publicly voice your opinion is to submit a public comment on OSHA’s rule for private employers.

So far, over 20,000 of you have told OSHA that this rule is unlawful. Public comments are only open until December 6, so act today.

Submit your own public comment <[link removed]> to oppose Biden’s vaccine mandate.

Thank you again for all that you do, and make sure you stay tuned in the coming weeks!
