John,

Happy Halloween!

Unfortunately in California, raging wildfires have been the spookiest part of this week.

Can you donate now to help bring the fight against climate change to Congress?

In Northern California, the Kincaide fire has scorched over 75,000 acres. Up to 5,000 people are still under evacuation orders. In our own district in San Francisco, workers have battled levels of air pollution dangerous to sensitive groups.

Our energy company's response? After decades of neglecting investments in customer safety in favor of shareholder profit, PG&E’s attempt to “contain the fires” is to shut off power for over three million Californians.

Chip in now to elect a representative who will stand up to big corporations and treat the climate crisis with the urgency we deserve!

Tweet that reads: Uncomfortable fact: Many firefighters doing extremely dangerous work to keep communities safe during the #kincadefire are incarcerated and make $1 an hour. The CEO of @PGE4Me , the corporation that is a convicted felon and is still on probation, is being paid $900 an hour.

The stakes are higher than ever. Join our campaign today!

When corporations who dominate our climate policy, it’s We the People who pay the price. In Congress, nationalizing our utilities will be one of my top priorities.

Public ownership of utilities alone isn’t enough to solve this crisis. I will tax the rich to reinvest in our country’s infrastructure. I will challenge our racist criminal justice system to prison labor to ensure our first responders are unionized and receive the wages and benefits they deserve.
