Have you read about President Biden’s Ambassador to the United Nations?
She is telling her fellow ambassadors from around the world that “white supremacy” is “weaved into [America’s] founding documents and principles.”
Can you imagine being told that America’s glorious founding principle—the principle that “all men are created equal,” endowed by God with “unalienable rights”—embodies the idea of white supremacy?
Can you imagine being told the same thing about our cherished Constitution, which is responsible for America becoming the freest, most prosperous nation in human history?
That America’s United Nations Ambassador is promoting these lies is reprehensible. But even more reprehensible is the fact that so many K-12 and college students in America are being taught this same false narrative.
Too many young Americans are not learning what makes America an exceptional nation and a beacon of liberty for the world. Instead, they learn that our great nation’s history is essentially a history of injustice—that America at its heart has always been racist and is undeserving of respect.
Is it any wonder that so many younger Americans today feel an increasing attraction to so-called “critical race theory” and other ideas destructive of liberty?
Is it any wonder that there is decreasing support among younger Americans for basic liberties that past generations have revered and taken for granted—liberties such as freedom of speech?
It is easy to become discouraged by the Left’s dominance in our colleges and universities and its increasing influence in K-12 education. But we must not lose hope—we must fight back with the truth.
Hillsdale College has been engaging the Left on the battlefield of education from the beginning.
In fact, we produced a free online course that helps do just that, titled “The Great American Story: A Land of Hope.” And I’m asking for your help in promoting it to additional millions of Americans—especially younger Americans—and to expand our other critical outreach efforts on behalf of liberty nationwide.

“The Great American Story: A Land of Hope” presents a full, unbiased account of America’s past. Our goal in producing and promoting this free online course is to restore the kind of intelligent patriotism—especially among our young people—that is essential to preserving free government.
This work is the surest means of defending liberty—which is why we make every online course available free of charge to any citizen wishing to learn.
“The Great American Story: A Land of Hope” is a powerful counterweight to The New York Times’ “1619 Project,” which seeks to inject the idea that America is essentially unjust into the curricula of America’s K-12 schools.
Of course, producing an online course and making it available free of charge requires significant resources—and promoting the course nationwide, which is essential, costs even more.
To date, more than 118,000 Americans have enrolled in “The Great American Story: A Land of Hope”—but we must do more.
