| President Biden Belittles Mothers and Caregivers While Promoting His "Build Back Better" Plan |
| | President Biden recently took to Twitter to complain that women are “locked out of the workforce because they have to care for a child or an elderly relative at home” and tout his “Build Back Better” Act so that women can “get back to work.” This sentiment is deeply anti-family and belittles women who choose to stay at home as mothers and caregivers. Half the women in America with children under the age of 18 prefer to stay home. Not only that, but 60% of Americans say that having a parent, particularly a mother, stay at home is best for children. The research backs this up — stay-at-home parenting is good for children. Kids with a stay-at-home parent are less likely to struggle academically, have lower stress levels, and fewer behavior issues. Rather than acknowledge any of this, President Biden bemoans the fact that these women are at home instead of in the workforce. This attitude devalues motherhood and caregiving, and is completely dismissive toward children and older adults. What if our priority was not ensuring that as many parents as possible are away from their children for at least half of their waking hours in pursuit of transient economic gain, and instead focused on supporting families? Devaluing families and belittling those who stay at home as caregivers is not “building back better.” It is profoundly disrespectful and shows a complete disregard for young and old alike. Furthermore, is it any surprise that we see staffing shortages in day cares, group homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities when our elected officials lead the way in treating caregiving as less valuable than whatever other jobs President Biden wishes people would get back to—only, of course, after submitting to mandatory COVID-19 vaccination? |

| Giving Tuesday is an Opportunity to GIVE for Life! |
| | It's almost #GivingTuesday! This is a mainstay of the calendar for nonprofits all across America as we prepare for the giving season and the holidays. On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving last year, Americans donated over $2.47 billion to their favorite nonprofits and charities on #GivingTuesday alone! With so many deserving nonprofits, why does Minnesota Family Institute deserve your tax-deductible donations? Because we're fighting for LIFE in Minnesota. As our state's largest Christian group devoted to life, family, and religious freedom, we are advancing the right to life from conception to natural death, every day of the year. We're doing this in various ways, but I especially want to highlight our work educating Minnesotans about the necessity of electing pro-life leaders. Because of radical pro-abortion politicians in our State Capitol and Governor's Mansion, we're facing an uphill battle to protect life. But with your help, we can get the message out to Minnesotans that we have huge opportunities in 2022 to CHANGE THE GAME and make progress for LIFE. If you want to see Minnesota embrace a culture of life where babies' lives are cherished and protected, give to the work of Minnesota Family Institute this #GivingTuesday. We're so grateful for your support! |

| Independent Abortion Facilities are Closing and That's Good News! |
| | The so-called “Abortion Care Network” (ACN) recently reported that independent abortion facilities are closing at an “alarming rate.” In the past five years, 113 independent abortion facilities have closed, including 34 since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the past decade, the number of independent abortion facilities has declined by 30%. The rate at which these clinics are closing is not what is alarming. What is alarming is that they ever opened in the first place and that, far too often, we are numb to the daily massacre committed by the abortion industry. It’s well past time for these clinics to close. Abortion is a grave injustice that has plagued the United States for too long, and the sooner these clinics close the doors, the better. Although Planned Parenthood continues to commit over a third of abortions in the United States, ACN reports that independent abortion facilities commit 58% of all abortions. Meanwhile, 40 Days for Life recently celebrated the 20,000th baby saved thanks to their campaign! For 14 years, the group has held a 40-day, around-the-clock vigil outside of abortion facilities praying for the women entering and offering them hope and resources to choose life, and their annual vigil has saved an average of over 1400 babies per year! The pro-life movement is making strides, not just in passing life-saving legislation but also in changing hearts and minds about abortion and offering real care and support to women. The abortion industry preys on fear. The impact of organizations like 40 Days for Life and other pro-life sidewalk counseling ministries shows that women do not need abortion and that, when shown the reality of abortion and offered life-affirming support, many abortion-minded women choose life. |
