Today’s a huge day for workers everywhere, John .

In 20 countries around the world, on every inhabited continent, a coalition of activists from environmental, worker-rights, anti-monopoly, and data privacy movements (and that’s not even the full list), are staging a massive series of strikes and protests against Amazon.

I’m so thrilled to see this challenge to corporate power, because it is direly needed. I stand with Amazon workers everywhere to #MakeAmazonPay, and I can’t wait to take this fight to Congress.

The protestors' extremely reasonable demands start with:

1. Pay Amazon workers a living wage: Do I even need to explain this? Workers create profits and should be paid. Period.

2. Respect their right to join unions: Everyone should be able to join a union if they want to, without fear of intimidation and retaliation.

3. Pay its fair share of taxes: Remember how Amazon pays nothing in taxes and Bezos reaps billions in profit? Yeah, let’s fix that so we can use those tax dollars to invest in our communities.

4. Commit to meaningful environmental sustainability: Amazon’s sheer enormity means that it touches almost every aspect of the global economy and supply chain. Taking meaningful — actually meaningful — steps to mitigate their carbon footprint would have reverberations throughout the rest of the industry and the world.

I’m proud to stand in solidarity with Amazon workers today, and I’d be even prouder to fight on behalf of them—and workers right here in Florida—in Congress.

So, instead of contributing to the corporate-sponsored madness of Black Friday, will you make a contribution to my campaign so I can fight for workers everywhere?
