Hi there, John,
Today, as retailers are urging us to buy, I’m personally emailing as many compassionate IRC supporters as I possibly can — to ask if you can give from the heart and make a donation — so we can continue to provide urgently-needed humanitarian aid to children and families in Afghanistan and other crisis areas. Can you chip in today?
Here’s the personalized link you can use to donate, John: [link removed]
As we head into the holiday season, so many families in conflict zones are struggling to survive. In Afghanistan alone, 23 million people are facing the threat of famine and 1 million malnourished children could die without urgent assistance. (Read that line again if you have a sec. It’s real and awful, and we have to do something now.)
And here’s the thing: winter is right around the corner and the situation is expected to get even worse. I remember hearing the news last year of severe winter storms in Kabul. Families will once again have to brave freezing cold nights of heavy snow this year, and more will lack food, shelter and warm winter gear.
Our teams are on the ground in Afghanistan providing urgent resources and delivering cash assistance so families can purchase fuel for heat, coats, boots, hats and other winter items.
We’re also supporting local health clinics (more than 62 across Afghanistan) treating malnourished children — but we need your help to keep our work going there and in other crisis areas.
Any amount, no matter how small or large, makes a difference for children and families in need. And donating online takes just a moment using Paypal or your credit card.

From all of us here at the IRC and the families we serve, thank you.
