Midnight tonight marks our party's critical October deadline, John, less than one week before key elections in several important states. After running our latest numbers, I fear we're at risk of coming up short.

When we fall short of our fundraising goals, it's not just an issue for the DNC. Coming up short of our goals means that Democrats everywhere -- including our eventual presidential nominee -- could lack the infrastructure they'll need to take on Trump and the GOP's machine. That is not an option our country can afford.

According to our calculations, if just 21 more donors from Washington donate before midnight we'll be able to meet this month's fundraising goal and stay on track to elect Democrats nationwide.
