Dear friend,

Today, I am enormously thankful for so many things (yes – more than pie and football).

I’m thankful for the scientists and doctors who have worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic to support our communities and help save lives. Thanks to their dedication and commitment, many of us across the country are able to gather in person with our families once again.

I can't wait to sit at the Thanksgiving table with my family later this evening, and I hope you have a safe place to gather with your loved ones, too.

I also wanted to give thanks to the brave service members who are defending our nation abroad. They are all in the hearts and minds of countless Americans tonight and every night.

I am thankful for the employers in our region that are providing good jobs – even during this pandemic – and for the workers who have gone the extra mile in the face of some real challenges.

I want to give thanks to our first responders and all who helped our communities weather some brutal storms over these last few weeks.

As always, I'm also thankful for my family. I go to work every day because I want to build a better future for my kiddos -- and for all Americans.

Finally, I'm thankful for folks in our region for allowing me to represent you – and for the amazing group of professionals who are part of my team who work on your behalf every day. It's the honor of a lifetime to serve you and the country we love.

It's an honor to represent you,

Derek
