John,
I just wanted to take a moment today to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Today I, like many of us around the country, am happy to be with my family knowing that we now have the protection of a vaccine that allows us to come together safely in person and celebrate everything we are grateful for.
With the help of DFA members, we were able to achieve so much progress this year, and each and every one of us at DFA couldn't be more grateful for your support.
It has been quite a year, so I want to briefly reflect on just a few accomplishments of DFA members in 2021.
In January, DFA members closed out the Georgia U.S. Senate races, finishing our robust text-out-the-vote program and helping to elect Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, giving the Democrats a narrow majority in the Senate.
Throughout the year, DFA members continued to work hard and helped elect candidates to historic wins in St. Louis, Missouri (Tishaura Jones, Mayor) Lima, Ohio (Sharetta Smith, Mayor), and Manhattan (Alvin Bragg, District Attorney).
We also elected Shenise Turner-Sloss (Dayton City Commission), Lori Dumas (Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge), and Joyce Craig (Mayor Manchester, New Hampshire.)
Each of these candidates ran to put the interests of their communities first. They’re not afraid of fighting the tough fights or speaking up for progressive values.
Our progressive ideas are winning ideas. America is ready for real change. Let’s keep fighting to elect progressive leaders who will fight for us.
Now with the 2022 primaries starting in less than 100 days, I hope you'll take time this weekend to pause and reflect before we kick it into full gear.
Please know that on this Thanksgiving holiday, our team is so grateful for you. Thank you for all you do to power DFA’s work, and together we will continue to fight for our shared progressive values.
