Happy Thanksgiving,
Friend!
Every year, I look forward to
Thanksgiving not just for the good food and time with my loved ones,
but for the opportunity it provides to reflect on the year before. And
this year more than most, slowing down to reflect is
critical.
In this past year, we've administered
hundreds of millions of vaccine doses, which are keeping people safe
across the country and allowing families to celebrate together today.
I'm incredibly thankful to the researchers, scientists, doctors,
nurses, and healthcare professionals who didn't just make and
distribute this vaccine, but have also helped us weather the
pandemic.
In the past 11 months, Joe Biden and
the Democratic House have kept their promises: we've passed
transformational legislation from the American Rescue Plan to the
Infrastructure Bill to the Build Back Better Act that will transform
life for working families. I'm thankful to my colleagues who put the
American people first, the activists who have fought with us, and
every voter who trusted us to deliver on our promises.
In the past month, we've seen how
much these investments are already paying off. We were projected to
slash unemployment by 4.6% by 2023. But by October of this year, we
had already hit that goal. I'm deeply thankful that millions of
Americans are better off today than they were last year at this
time.
And while I'm grateful for all these
things, it pales in comparison to how grateful I am for my friends, my
family, and you. Thank you for the support and
friendship.
From my family to yours, I hope you
have a happy Thanksgiving. And if this day is hard for you, I hope it
lands gently.
Thank you, Ted
