Dear Friend, Today, I am reflecting on our beloved community. I am filled with gratitude for each and every one of you: your strength, resilience, and commitment to justice. As the pandemic continues, as we still seek a pathway to citizenship for our undocumented brothers and sisters, I am always thankful for the lessons of love from Faith in Action leaders like you. Thank you for demonstrating your love through organizing, protesting, donating, writing, and calling so that our leaders know that we must create a pathway to citizenship for essential immigrant workers, DACA recipients, farm workers, and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders. Thank you for professing your love by ensuring that everyone has access to the ballot and that Black and brown voters in particular are able to make their voices heard. Thank you for living your love by watching one another’s kids at organizing meetings, by bringing food to one another when sick, and by sitting with one another in times of grief. This community is a lesson in love. I want to thank each of you for telling your story and listening to the stories of others — a transformational act of love for ourselves and each other. I am thinking of you all with love and solidarity. |
