As we gather on this holiday, Team Olikara holds our Waukesha community members close in our hearts after a devastating weekend at the Christmas parade. We are honoring those we lost and pray for those recovering both physically and mentally. In the wake of these tragic events, we saw the community come together across political, racial, and religious lines to support the victims and their families.

Interfaith candlelight vigil in Waukesha

The interfaith prayer vigil held on Monday, which included leaders of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Unitarian Universalist, and other traditions, was a powerful testament to a core idea behind our campaign – when we center dignity and empathy in community conversations, our common humanity becomes more important than what divides us.
