Will you chip in to combat food insecurity in our district?

Because today is Thanksgiving, we wanted to quickly reach out to you about something.
As we get deeper into winter, many members of our community continue to face food insecurity — whether that's not having enough food to put on the table, or a lack of nutritional options. And with the holiday season just beginning, demand for food will continue to increase.
We've seen this movement step up to achieve incredible things before, which is why today, we need your help. Will you join us in making a contribution to local New York organizations that are helping people affected by food insecurity in our district?

Earlier this week, we were proud to donate turkeys to folks in our community in advance of Thanksgiving — all which was made possible by contributions from this grassroots movement. In total, we donated over 200 turkeys and chickens to the Mt. Vernon Senior Center.
But like we said, John — as we get deeper into winter, the demand will only increase. So, here are the two organizations we are hoping to support today:
- City Harvest is New York City's largest food rescue organization, rescuing over 100 million pounds of food a year, which they then deliver to food pantries and kitchens across the city.
- Feeding Westchester leads hunger action programs and mobilizes the resources needed to eradicate hunger in Westchester County.
