Hey, John — have you defrosted your turkey yet?
I realize these 👆 kinds of questions (and maybe some last minute shopping) are probably on your mind today as we eagerly get ready for the big holiday tomorrow.
Before you head off to enjoy the weekend, I quickly wanted to get on here to share with you a couple things Gisele and I are most grateful for this season — and why your support for our family as we fight for the future of Pennsylvania is so damn high on that list.
First, the single biggest thing that both Gisele and I are thankful for this year is that our kids — Karl, Gracie, and August — are safe and healthy. Our two youngest were seriously stoked to finally get their vaccines just last week. They were both brave, explaining to their mom that they "didn't even feel it."
As Gisele said so beautifully: After everything this virus has taken from us, this moment felt like such a win. We're both incredibly grateful to all the scientists, volunteer trial participants, and health care workers who worked tirelessly to get us to this moment. Gisele teared up a bit, and I may or may not have had something in my eye… 😭
I am so deeply grateful that, this Thanksgiving, they'll have another chance to hug their grandparents again. After a year of so much loss for many of our families — ours included — there is just nothing more meaningful than to spend this time with our loved ones.
John, it's not lost on me how *drastically* different this Thanksgiving looks compared to where we all were last year. None of us were vaccinated. It was a scary time, ya know? Literally, we went from isolating to keep each other safe, to finally coming back together to celebrate side by side.
Finally, I would be remiss not to mention that I'm damn grateful for YOU. You and every single person who's shown up at an event, chipped in, signed up to volunteer, or even just sent kind words of encouragement our way are the true power behind this people-powered effort. Gisele and I owe all of this to you — and for that we are so, so thankful. ❤️
That's all from me for today. If you're still reading this email, thank you for your patience + dedication. One last thing: There is a little baggie of parts *inside* the turkey. Be sure to remove it before roasting.
Wishing you a happy, healthy, and safe Thanksgiving — from the Fetterman family to yours. 🦃
