There have been a couple of major developments in our race over the past couple of weeks, and it’s all led up to me making a tough decision.

First, the draft maps came out and have my district getting even redder. Then we heard that Devin Nunes is planning to run against me. And now a GOP Super PAC is running brand new attack ads against me over the holiday break - on networks like the Hallmark channel!

My team and I have been going back and forth about how to respond. (I’m trying to leave them alone over the holidays, but there’s too much happening!) And today I had to make a tough decision - do we spend our hard earned resources on new ads of our own or do we hold back?

I decided to move forward with the ads because I don’t think we have time to waste. But now we’re going to be another $5,000 short of our fundraising goal for November.

I need your help to make sure this doesn’t detract from our fundraising progress, because Devin Nunes has a $12 million warchest and that’s going to be a big challenge to overcome if he officially enters the race next month.
