The spectacle created by those who support abortion is shameful. Planned Parenthood has lost their license due to their incompetence, and for no other reason. The blame for the deficiencies and infractions at the Planned Parenthood abortion site in St. Louis can be laid specifically and only on those who operate that abortion facility. Women’s lives were put at risk and the law was broken at the St. Louis Planned Parenthood. No one and no healthcare facility is above the law. Annual inspections and unannounced inspections, pursuant to legislation enacted in 2017, raised concerns that have led our Governor, State Leaders and the Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to question some of the healthcare services given to four women at the St Louis Planned Parenthood. The deviations from standard care found by the DHSS can cause hemorrhage, infection or even septic shock which leads to: Respiratory failure Cardiac failure Liver and Kidney failure Gangrene where body tissues die due to loss of blood Total hysterectomy The question to which the DHSS seeks an answer is: If poor medical care, outside of the law, was happening with four women, could it happen to others? Over the years, multiple emergency vehicles at the site and a lack of reporting of these events have caused grave concerns about the safety of women’s healthcare at the St Louis Planned Parenthood. The inspection forms used by the DHSS to gather information are the same forms used by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and even used by the abortion industry and the Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood. No personal names or information is ever reported in these forms. Dr. Randall Williams, Director of the Missouri DHSS, is an OBGYN with over 30 years of training in healthcare for pregnant women and has nothing in mind but the best interest for quality healthcare for women as he makes decisions on healthcare facility operations. Missouri is lucky to have such a well-educated medical doctor as our Director of the Missouri Department of Health. Hundreds of federally funded and state health centers in our state offer women and their families, high-quality care for all healthcare needs, unlike Planned Parenthood that commits abortions and breaks Missouri’s laws. Thank you to Governor Parson, Director Williams and our pro-life State House and Senate members for watching out for women and unborn babies in the State of Missouri. We are proud of your work!
