Friend: Earlier this year, the bipartisan select committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection announced its intentions to investigate the communications of Trump family members and GOP members of Congress who may have aided in the "Stop the Steal Rally" – aka the pep rally for the attack on the Capitol.

Communications from Kimberly Guilfoyle – a top fundraiser and campaign strategist for President Trump, and the girlfriend of his son, Donald Trump Jr. – reveal her bragging about raising $3 million for the rally that helped facilitate the violent and deadly attacks on Jan. 6.

According to an investigation by ProPublica, these communications from Guilfoyle "represent the strongest indication yet that members of the Trump family inner circle were involved in financing and organizing" the rally preceding the Capitol attack.

In addition to bragging about raising funds for an event that helped catalyze an insurrection, Guilfoyle was also with Donald Trump himself in the Oval Office watching coverage of the Jan. 6 events, telling him it was a reflection of "the will of the people." She took the stage herself at the rally and told the crowd that "we will not allow the liberals and the Democrats to steal our dreams or steal our elections."

Friend, week after week, Trump, his family, and accomplices – and what that evidence shows is that Donald Trump tried to use his power to overturn the election; and when he failed, he incited a deadly insurrection while Congress certified the election results. Here's what I believe as a former U.S. attorney and state attorney general for over 20 years: There is real potential for criminal charges to be considered against the former president and anybody who aided him.

Republicans are running scared and will do whatever they can to protect themselves and cover for Donald Trump and his family. They are already making threats to try to keep the facts from coming out. It's up to all grassroots Democrats to speak out and ensure Trump and his family are held accountable – which is why I need to know where 650 more of you stand right now:

Should criminal charges be considered for Donald Trump, his family, and members of Congress if proven that they aided the Jan. 6 insurrectionists?

Even out of power, Donald Trump is being well protected by the Republican Party. I'm determined to secure the full truth and accountability for what happened on the day of Jan. 6, but I can only do it with grassroots support. Thanks for doing your part.

Dick
